About Meiho
Meiho Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (明邦化学工業株式会社) is a plastics manufacturer in Hirano, Osaka. The company was founded in February 1947 as Kiyomoto Mirror Industrial Works and incorporated under its present name in December 1983; its own description of its business is the planning, manufacture and sale of plastic storage boxes.
Fishing is the largest part of that. The Fishing MEIHO range covers the Bucket Mouth box-seat and its accessories, the handled tackle boxes, tool cases, the Slit Form and waterproof series and bait-fishing supplies; the Fishing VERSUS range is the premium line, the system compartment cases, utility cases, handled boxes, pocket cases and the Versus Wave salt-water range. The same works also makes tool boxes, first-aid kits, craft and nail cases and pill boxes for the Japanese market.
What sets Meiho apart is the system. The cases are sized to each other: a Versus compartment case stacks with the next size and fits the trays of the larger boxes, the Bucket Mouth's rails take the same rod stands and holders across three sizes, and the Run Gun and Slit Form cases hold jigs and rigged hooks upright in slit foam. Every case is made in Japan.
Meiho publishes the dimensions of every model, and this site carries them on each product page, outside and inside measurements, divider layout, material and weight, taken from Meiho's own pages.

Meiho in New Zealand

Meiho's own range is wider than this: the Japanese catalogue runs to some five hundred products across fishing, tools, crafts and first aid.
